Lewis Barbieri, Director

Lew's PhotoLewis Barbieri currently serves as Director of ORCA. Lew came to the University in June of 2006 to escape the madness of Manhattan. After earning a law degree, he worked at Pfizer, Inc. for 12 years in many contracting arenas, ranging from clinical trial agreements to negotiating contracts with clinical research organizations.

Lee Anne T. Peters, Contract Officer

Lee PetersLee has worked for the University for over 20 years. Over the years she has been involved with every thing from Contract Negotiation to development of the Facilities and Administration Rate (and just about everything in between). Lee is currently responsible for review and negotiation of all incoming governmental and non-profit agreements as well as overseeing all outgoing subcontracts. In her free time, Lee enjoys creating hand-made quilts as well as watching her daughter play softball.

John J. Annibal, Contract Analyst

John's PhototJohn graduated from the University of Arizona in 1986 with a degree in Accounting. He has been employed by the University of Arizona since 1989, and has worked in the Office of Research and Contract Analysis since 1999. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching his kids play soccer and other events, watching movies, reading a good book, hiking, fishing, bicycling, and going to the beach. He craves Mexican food, especially chile rellenos and tacos, and says "watching the Wildcats win while eating Mexican food is even better."

 

Melissa Kramer, Contract Analyst

Melissa KramerMelissa Kramer started at ORCA in 1999 as a student employee. She had previously worked on outgoing subcontracts and clinical trials. In her current position, she negotiates research agreements, material transfer agreements, and confidentiality agreements. She is also training on negotiating Federal agreements. Melissa has a Masters of Arts Degree in Modern and Contemporary Art and Theory. She loves art, reading, and foreign films. Her main passion is traveling with her husband – their travels have taken them to nine countries with the furthest being India.

Kaytee Cobb, Contract Analyst

Kaytee's PhotoKaytee started at ORCA in Nov. of 2005 as the Administrative Assistant. She started working on outgoing subcontracts in June of 2006. As of February 2007, she has been laborindg away in the field of Clinical Trial Agreements. She is currently enrolled as a Master's student in Spanish Linguistics at the UA, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies. She and her husband Jason love to travel together, as well as ski and scuba dive whenever possible!

Katie Poore, Contract Analyst

Katie's PhotoKatie Poore has been with the University of Arizona for 10 years and with ORCA for almost 6 years. Katie worked in Sponsored Projects before joining ORCA. Katie is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Economics. She is married to Dan and has two children, Lindsey and Jackson. Katie enjoys reading and exercising in her free time..

Richard A. Haney Jr., Sr. Contract Analyst

DickDick Haney was director of ORCA for six years before retiring in September 2006.  He moved from the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) to ORCA in 1999.  When OTT was established in July 1987, Dick was one of the three employees.  Previously he had consulted and worked part-time with the Arizona Technology Development Corporation, the Division for Industrial Cooperation and the Office of the Patent Coordinator.  Earlier employments with the University were with the Office of Arid Lands Studies and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and before that, the University News Bureau.  For relaxation, Dick takes one of his cars to road course events at tracks near Phoenix.

 

 

Victoria Gibbins, Contract Analyst

VictoriaVictoria has been with ORCA since November of 2006. She has lived in Tucson all but one year of her life. Victoria has a son, Logan, and a fiancé, John. When she is not working she spends her time with her family. She received her Bachelors Degree in Business Management in December of 2007 from Northern Arizona University..

Meghan Hawkes , Office Specialist

Danielle Shirar

Meghan joined ORCA in April of 2008 as the Office Specialist. Following graduation from NAU with an English degree, Meghan spent a year teaching in Japan before eventually moving to Tucson.  She spends her free time reading, playing video games, going to the movies, and writing the next Great American Novel.
